I hope to be on the right section to expose my problem. My father has a rimor for several years and already had several electronic problems with it. Almost 3 years ago the display panel stoped working and he got a new one (with new version); the old one could power ON but would'nt command anything... yesterday the "new" display panel was also dead, after only 2,5 years working (once or twice a year...).
As I'm electronician my father asked me to take a look and I could measure 13,8V in and also 5V out of the 78L05 (soic version) on the board; but display is dead, no power ON, nothing on LCD or LEDs.
As he also still had the old display Panel I took a look a it and here's what I could find:
- different board on old display panel - with PIC17c56A microcontroller
- when powering on with 12V I get 5,15V out of the soic "LM2931M 5.0"
- on power ON: I get a "beep", power led, and full LCD (LCD reset) but nothing more, LCD stays always full ON.
Could you please advice on repair one of those units please?
As I said I'm electronician, so equipement will not be a problem.
